The paper mainly on China's overseas direct investment research, through China's foreign direct investment flow to the total situation, industry distribution, region composition data and related theory and objective analysis of the foreign direct investment of Chinese enterprises some motivation and profiles. The article from macroscopical and microcosmic on inspection of foreign direct investment of Chinese enterprises when the problem, and in the part of case analysis using Chinese peace the acquisition of Fortis Group, Huawei acquisition trefoil systems and Volvo Volvo experience, analysis of our enterprise in the merger and acquisition process need to pay attention to details and put forward for China's foreign direct investment development the related suggestions.

This paper studies Chinese enterprises' Oversee Direct Investment (ODI) through analysis on the amount of ODI, sector and region distribution with related theories. It concludes a general picture and some motivators of ODI in China. Chinese ODI is in a stable phase and many a enterprise underestimated risks associated with ODI. Based on the M&A case study on Ping’an (Fortis), Huawei (3Leaf Systems) and Geely(Volvo), this paper also tried to figure out challenges confronted by Chinese enterprises in ODI process, on macro and micro levels, from which recommendations on detailed action were made to new Chinese ODI (M&A) initiatives.
