有一次一个电脑工程师制造了内含电脑芯片的鹦鹉。它看起来像是一只非常漂亮的鸟，而且能够像真的一样飞。除了这些，它还能够重复人说过的话。他还给它做了一只笼子安身。
一天这只鹦鹉不呆在笼子里了。它想要在房间里飞。那个人进了房间看到鹦鹉，问它：“你在干什么？”
“你在干什么？”鹦鹉回答
那个人笑了，说：“拜拜，亲爱的。”鹦鹉重复：“拜拜，亲爱的。”然后男人离开去拜访朋友去了。
这个晚上小偷来到了房子里。他在则凳房子周围张望。没有人在家里。那个小偷撬开了房门发现了一些碗和花瓶。他把它们放斗洞进袋子里。然后他进入卧室。在卧室里他发空盯枯现了一块金表和在旁边的一些钱。他将它们也放进去。他从房子里偷了其它很多值钱的东西并收了起来。袋子很快就满了。这个贼背着它走向门口。
他打开门向外看。没有人。
“你在干什么？”传来一个声音。
那个贼蹦了起来把袋子扔了。接着他逃离房子到街上。
“你在干什么？”声音又响起来“再见，亲爱的。”

A Parrot and a Thief
Once a computer engineer made a parrot with a computer memory in it. It looked like a very beautiful bird and was able to fly as a real one did. Besides that, it was able to repeat what the man said. He also made a cage for it to stay.
One day the parrot was not in its cage. It was flying about the room. The man came into the room and saw the parrot. “What are on doing?" he asked.
"What are you doing?” the parrot repeated.
The man laughed and said. “Goodbye. my dear.” The parrot repeated. "Goodbye. my dear.” Then the man went out to visit his friends.
That evening a thief came to the house. He walked round the house and looked into the windows. There was no one at home. The thief broke the door and found some bowls and vases. He put them into a bag. Then he went into the bedroom. In the bedroom he found a gold watch and some money on the bedside. He put these into the bag too. He stole many other valuable things from the house and put them into his bag. The bag was soon full. The thief carried it on his back and walked to the door.
He opened the door and looked out. There was no one there.
“What are you doing?” a voice said.
The thief jumped high into the air and dropped his bag. Then he ran out of the house and down the road.
“What are you doing?” the voice said again. “Goodbye, my dear."
